New Delhi, Dec 19: Taking exception to Anna Hazare's announcement of going on a fast from December 27 on Lokpal issue, LJP today alleged that Team Anna is “prejudiced” against Parliament as it is issuing the “threat” without waiting for passage of the legislation.

“We have a political system and Parliament is supreme. So without giving an opportunity to bring the Lokpal legislation in the House, one should not hold out a threat like this. That means you are prejudiced,” LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan told reporters.

Taking a potshot at Anna's claim that he is a Gandhian, he said, “When a minister was slapped, he said ‘only one slap'.

“Flogging for drinking is also not Gandhism. Some people are misleading public in the name of Gandhi.”

Paswan also strongly advocated for non-inclusion of CBI in the Lokpal.

“CBI should be independent. Government should make it autonomous. We are not in favour of bringing CBI under Lokpal.”

Hoping for reservation in Lokpal, he said, “We are hopeful that there will be reservation in the Lokpal. We are demanding it for long. Since no political party is opposing it, government should not have any problem in it.”

“Government has always claimed it was working in favour social justice. We are waiting for the moment to congratulate the government and opposition for bringing quota in Lokpal after the cabinet decision,” Paswan said.
