In the Rajya Sabha, soon after the Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde made a statement on the Srinagar attack, the opposition members questioned why the government was failing to take a hard stance against terrorism.
Naresh Agrawal of Samajwadi Party said, Pakistan is killing our people here, Sri Lankan Navy is killing our fishermen, Italian marines killed our fishermen and went away. What is the government up to? he asked.
BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, it was sad that five CRPF men were killed weeks after two Indian army jawans were beheaded by Pakistani soldiers. Goverment appears not to be serious in combating terrorism, he said.
CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury asked what the government means by "zero-tolerance"? At least, tell us what measures you are taking to combat terrorism, he said.
