Patna: Slamming former chief minister Nitish KumarNarendra ModiBJPJitan Ram Manjhi for nursing hostility with Prime Minister-designate , the today urged Kumar's successor to attend Modi's swearing-in ceremony tomorrow in order to reach out to the new government at the Centre.

Manjhi must take the opportunity of attending Modi's swearing-in ceremony tomorrow to send out a signal to improve goods relations with the Central government in order to extract more funds for development of Bihar, former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said in a post on social networking site.

By attending Modi's swearing-in, the new chief minister will also be able to improve his own image, that he is not a ‘yes man' of his predecessor and offset whatever political damage that must have been caused by the arrogant attitude of his predecessor, he said.

Narendra Modi had congratulated the Manjhi over phone on assuming charge of the chief ministership of Bihar and offered to provide him all support for development of the state.

Sushil Modi asked that if the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif can decide to atttend the function by taking the army and ISI into confidence, then why can't the new Bihar chief minister do so.

The senior BJP leader said that Manjhi must attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in to send out a message that he need not obtain permission of his predecessor on every decision or that he is not a “puppet chief minister”.

He also hit out at Kumar for displaying continuing hostility towards the Prime Minister-designate by congratulating him through a message on a social networking site and not through phone or media and said that the latter, in contrast, reacted impromtu by picking up phone to congratulate Manjhi on being chosen as the Bihar CM.
