Gazipur/Lucknow: Senior CPI leader Atul Anjan sparked a controversy with a base less statement on the actress Sunny Leone.
While addressing a rally in Gazipur District of Uttar Pardesh, Anjan said that Sunny Leone's TV commercials that advertise condom will lead to more rapes in the country.
This controversial statement from National Secretary of CPI came onto light today through a video released by a news channel.
In his speech, Atul is seen targeting Sunny Leone on being part of the porn industry and called her ‘nude film actress' who promotes condoms
He further went to say that this vulgar and dirty publicity of the condom on TV and radio will not decrease but increase the rape cases in the country.
Atul Anjan further appealed to the youngsters to avoid such ads as they eliminate sensitivity and increase sexuality of an individual.
It is not the first time that a politician has made such a senseless statement on the serious issue.
In the past also, many politicians like Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Abu Asim Azmi, Babu Lal gaur, RR Patil, have faced criticism for their ‘controversial' reactions on the rape cases.
