New Delhi, March 20: Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has called an all-party meeting Wednesday evening to find ways to end the parliament logjam, and discuss the resolution likely to be adopted by members over the Sri Lanka issue, a Lok Sabha official said.

"The meeting is being called to end the parliament logjam," the Lok Sabha official told IANS.

Although the official did not confirm whether the Sri Lanka resolution was also on the agenda, he did not rule it out.

Both houses of parliament were disrupted Wednesday after the Samajwadi Party (SP) sought the resignation of Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma, while DMK and AIADMK members raised the Sri Lanka issue.

The SP demanded Verma's resignation after he publicly rebuked its leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. SP members alleged that Verma said Yadav received a "commission" for supporting the central government.

The DMK and AIADMK want India to take a hard line stand against Sri Lanka at the United Nations Human Rights Council meet in Geneva over rights abuses.
