New Delhi, Jul 3: The Samajwadi Party has come down heavily on Union steel minister Beni Prasad Verma for his sweeping remarks against SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Verma on Tuesday had said that Mulayam is not even fit to sweep the PM's residence.
"Yadav wants to become Prime Minister. He should first try to get the job of a sweeper at the residence of the PM," Beni Prasad Verma said at a programme in Faizabad.
Reacting angrily to Verma's insulting comments, SP leader Kamal Farooqi termed him insane and uncouth.
"What can be said about an insane person who does not know how to behave and what language to use. It is very surprising and unfotunate that the Congress is not acting aganist him," Farooqi said.
"We have been asking our workers to maintain restraint. If the Congress is not acting, then we presume that the Congress has let him free. They are forcing us to act," added Farooqi.
