New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi have expressed deep anguish over the havoc caused by a tropical storm in Bihar and asked partymen to join relief efforts.
The Congress President also asked Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee and frontal organizations of AICC to take a thorough stock of the situation and do every thing possible for providing immediate relief and succor to affected people.
In his message, Rahul Gandhi expressed his “deepest condolences” to the families which lost their loved ones in the storm last night.
“I hope relief and rescue operations are underway and authorities are extending all possible help to that in need. I appeal to all Congress workers to assist the authorities in bringing relief to people,” he said.
The storm swept 12 districts of Bihar leaving 42 dead and 80 seriously injured.
