New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will meet President Pranab Mukherjee today to bring his attention towards 'growing intolerance' in the country.
Reports say that Sonia, along with her son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, will lead a party delegation to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
It is likely that the delegation will also submit a memorandum to the President on issues of rising tolerance.
Today's meeting came against the backdrop of a large number of writers and artists returning their awards to protest against religious intolerance in the country.
Expressing her concern over rising intolerance, Sonia had yesterday vowed to fight the 'diabolical design' of divisive forces to spread hatred, which posed a threat to the unity of the country.
Meanwhile, the government on Sunday accused opposition Congress, Left thinkers and activists of practising ideological intolerance towards the Narendra Modi-led government.
