New Delhi: With the party's numbers down in Lok Sabha, Congress President Sonia Gandhi today asked MPs to be present in the House throughout the day.
Gandhi, who made the point while chairing a meeting of party leaders from the Lower House, said that many of the MPs were not present in the post-lunch session, sources said.
The Congress chief, who is also the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, was herself seen in the House in the post-lunch session today.
Congress secured just 44 seats in Lok Sabha polls earlier this year, its lowest ever. Though the largest group in the opposition, it has failed to get the Leader of the Opposition status in the House.
