New Delhi: In an expenditure report submitted to Election Commission by the AICC Treasurer, Moti Lal Vora, it is revealed that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi did not shell out money from their pockets in 2009 general elections.
The Congress party favored India's powerful political family by giving Sonia and Rahul Rs. 25 lakh each to contest from Rae Bareli and Amethi seats.
The next person to get second highest funding from the party includes President Pranab Mukherjee, who got Rs 15 lakhs.
Expenditure data reveals that all Congress candidates in the last Lok Sabha polls on an average got Rs 10 lakh each as the party's support to fight elections.
