It should be noted that Choudhary was the leading choice of party from the assembly seat, but at the last moment the party gave ticket to Chander Singh Sisodia. The party is fearing an internal revolt following which the Chief Minister had words with the Choudhary.
The ruling BJP has pitted Sisodia against four-time Congress MLA and former minister Subhash Sojatia.
The BJP, however, rubbished the reports of Chouhan doing anything wrong and said that it is a well-planned strategy of the Congress to malign the CM's image.
The seat fell vacant after the death of incumbent BJP legislator Rajesh Yadav.
