Mumbai: Sending out a clear signal that post-poll alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP in Maharashtra can't be ruled out completely, Uddhav Thackeray led party has decided against walking out of Narendra Modi government at the centre.
Speculation was rife about the imminent resignation of Anant Geete, Shiv Sena representative in Modi govt, from union cabinet after the 25-year-old alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena came to an end yesterday. The alliance collapsed because of serious differences between the two parties over seat sharing formula for October 15 assembly elections and CM post.
But Anant Geete, union minister for heavy industries in Modi govt, has ruled out his resignation from the union cabinet.
“ Shiv Sena will continue to be part of Modi government. There is no question of walking out of the government. Shiv Sena has played an important role in bringing NDA to power. Therefore, we'll not move out of government,” said Geete.
