New Delhi, Mar 17: A group of Shiv Sena activists on Saturday night disrupted Pakistani sufi singer Sanam Marvi's concert held at the Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts on Dr Rajendra Prasad Marg.

Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah also attended the concert, but left moments before the Shiv Sena activists entered the auditorium.

Among the invitees were Delhi minister Kiran Walia. Despite police security, the Shiv Sena activists managed to sneak inside the auditorium and managed to disrupt the concert.

After police intervened and took away the Shiv Sena activists, the concert resumed with Sanam Marvi singing soulful Sufi songs in full flow.

The activists were objecting to recent acts by Pakistan for opposing Afzal Guru's hanging and beheading two Indian army jawans.

Sanam Marvi is a renowned Sufi singer from Hyderabad, Sindh, and hails from a family of Sufi singers.  She also sang in the Bollywood film London Paris New York. Trained under Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Sanam is considered one of the finest performers in Sufi, folk and ghazal genres.
