New Delhi: Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti today alleged that a conspiracy was plotted against the Modi governmnet surrounding growing intolerance and the beef row which damaged the party's chances in the state.

Speaking to a news agency , Uma Bharti  said, “India is progressing rapidly under Modiji, that is why conspiracy was hatched.”

"The awards were returned as per a pre-planned conspiracy, the issue of beef was hyped during the Bihar Assembly polls. After that, the issue of intolerance was spread around and a few BJP leaders made some comments," said Bharti.

On 'intolerance' charge in Bihar, Bharti said: “Saazish bohat badii thi hamaari sarkaar kay khilaf. Ye sab packaged saazish thii.”

The minister was also critical of BJP MP from Bihar Shatrughan Sinha, who has been taking dig at the BJP leadership for the party's poor performance in Bihar.

The cabinet minister said,"Shatrughan Sinha became a part of the anti-BJP packaging. The party will take necessary action. Veteran leaders are present in the party to take necessary action," .

"I don't need to say anything about this. If anyone has become a part of that packaging then necessary action would obviously be taken," she added.

Disgruntled BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to congratulate him on his impressive win and said those responsible for the party's humiliating defeat "should be taught a lesson".

In remarks that may not go down well with the BJP leadership, the actor-turned-politician described Kumar as a "tried, tested and successful" Chief Minister who was the"most respectable" after former West Bengal CM Jyoti Basu "among friends in the opposition".

A couple of leaders also sought to attack party MP Shatrughan Sinha saying his statements helped create an atmosphere against the BJP.
