Sharad Yadav says, both NDA, UPA will not get majority in 2014 LS polls

New Delhi, June 23:  Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav has said, even if his party had continued its alliance with the BJP, the National Democratic Alliance would not  have got majority in the 2014

India TV News Desk Updated on: June 23, 2013 8:53 IST

Yadav ruled out joining hands with the Congress, adding that his party would first study the Food Security Bill, and then decide its stand. "On the land acquisition bill, I think, all parties have agreed", he added.

Yadav described as "shallow" the assumption that his party would support a Congress-led government headed by Rahul Gandhi after the elections. "We have just walked out of the NDA alliance. Let's first put our house in order. We will then sit and decide taking national interests into consideration", he said.

The JD(U) chief admitted that his party had voted in favour of Pranab Mukherjee for President in the elections last year.

"We had then told Advanji about that.  He (Pranab) was from Congress, but the entire nation knows who he is. I had then warned that if a non-political person became the President, the nation will face a crisis after the 2014 polls".

Yadav pointed out that even another NDA ally Shiv Sena had supported Pratibha Patil for President, because she hailed from Maharashtra.

India TV will telecast Aap Ki Adalat featuring Sharad Yadav today (Saturday June 22) at 10 pm and  tomorrow (Sunday June 23) at 10 am and 10 pm.
