New Delhi: BJP MP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi has stoked another controversy by saying that Bollywood actor Salman Khan only got bail in the 2002 hit-and-run-case because he is a Muslim.
Sadhvi Prachi, known for her controversial statements time to time, said, "Agar 'Khan' nahi hote,toh aaj nishchit roop se gareebon ke saath nyay hota (if Salman Khan had not been a Muslim, justice would have been granted to poor victims)."
Reportedly, she demanded that Bollywood singer Abhijeet should be arrested for his tweets against street dwellers, the report further stated.
The Bombay High Court on Friday suspended Salman Khan's five-year sentence granted him bail. He will not have to go to jail pending disposal of his appeal against conviction in the 13-year old case in which one person had died and four others were injured.
