New Delhi, Mar 15 : Sachin Tendulkar will not be able to attend the first half of the Budget session of Parliament for a single day and he has sought leave giving reasons of his engagements in the India-Australia cricket series.
The Rajya Sabha today granted him leave from February 21 to March 7.
Tendulkar had sought leave from February 21 to March 7 citing his engagement in the India-Australia test cricket series.
The message in this regard was read out by Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien soon after Zero Hour.
Tendulkar has not attended the House for a single day in Budget session and only one week is left for the first half to conclude on March 22.
Both Tendulkar and Bollywood star Rekha have not attended the Rajya Sabha regularly.
“Both of them hardly come to the House. Why not give both of them permanent leave,” Naresh Agrawal of the Samajwadi Party said soon after Kurien's announcement to grant Tendulkar leave.
