New Delhi: The RSS mouthpiece 'Organiser' has warned elements inside and outside the armed forces which are using social media.

The motive behind this is to break the will of the soldiers with the help of internet and smart phones who fight by infiltrating units and military establishments.

The article written by author of "best sellers on leadership and social worker" says that the spread of communication network makes it easier for elements to reach larger audience across large areas faster than even before.

The article refers to this phenomenon as the “creepy rise of fifth column” and opines that this was a major threat which has gone unnoticed where elements were using whisper campaigns, gossip and rumour mongering to achieve their aim.

A specific mention has been made of Facebook and Whatsapp in the article while referring to one such instance in which serving officers of the Army were found to be protesting against the alleged ‘voluntary' deduction of one days' salary from their salary as a donation to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

The article goes on to say that “A few superseded disgruntled officers and subordinates with perceived grievances come handy to the enemy agents as tools of the fifth column for spreading the disease of mistrust and suspicion in command. Military authorities must deliberate over it and institutionalise effective mechanism to combat the sporadic disease before it assumes epidemic proportions”.

It justifies the deduction in salary for the PM's relief fund saying that “Army Act Section 25 (read with Army Rule 205 (b)) authorises the Army authorities to make compulsory deductions from the pay of army personnel to meet contribution to a Fund approved by the Central Government. Therefore, the compulsory deduction of one day's pay to raise the contribution of Rs 100 crore to the PM's Relief Fund is absolutely legal besides being a highly graceful gesture of benevolence from all ranks of the Indian Army”.

The article states that there might have many causes for insubordinates, quarrels and suicides with the military but there must be a substantial evidence to rule out “insidiously planned subversion”

The piece states that that the aim of the message is to whip up an anti-organisation sentiment and it is clear from the fact that the authors of such provocative outbursts are pushing out only half-truths.
