New Delhi: Upset over RJD's support to Nitish Kumar's bid to become Bihar Chief Minister, party MP Rajesh Ranjan, alias Pappu Yadav, today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, setting off speculation about his future course of action.
The five-time-Lok Sabha member, however, claimed his meeting with Modi was about development of Bihar and said no political motives should be attributed to it.
The RJD strongman said he was “very satisfied” with his meeting with Modi who offered him all support. Yadav had yesterday attacked Kumar and threatened to resign from Lok Sabha membership amid criticism of him by several RJD leaders, including RJD chief Lalu Prasad's son Tejashwi Yadav, for his alleged hobnobbing with BJP, something he denies.
“I met Modiji regarding development issues of Bihar particularly Kosi region. He listened to me intently and offered all possible support. We did not discuss politics,” he told PTI.
Yadav, who defeated JD(U) President Sharad Yadav in Lok Sabha elections, had opposed the move to remove Jitan Ram Manjhi as Bihar Chief Minister.
He had yesterday lashed out at Kumar, accusing him of working to finish RJD.
He enjoys considerable support in parts of north Bihar and his wife Ranjeet Ranjan had won the Lok Sabha election on the Congress ticket.
