Bulandshahr (UP), Nov 5: Union Minister Farooq Abdullah has said the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) should be revoked in certain parts of Jammu and Kashmir with the approval of both Centre and state government. With the collective consent of Centre and state government AFSPA should be withdrawn from some areas of the state, Abdullah, who is also president of ruling National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, said on the sidelines of a function here.
On BJP's demand to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution, the Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy said the Article on special status was needed as Jammu and Kashmir is industrially and agriculturally lagging behind in development.
