Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today said the fourth pillar of democracy should be strong enough while credibility of media should be maintained at all costs.

Addressing scribes of a TV news channel, Raje said the respect could be earned, not demanded in journalism.  “I want the fourth pillar of democracy should be strong enough, and it is my privilege too to support it,” Raje said.  “Nothing happens by threatening the source or someone..  respect can be earned, not demanded...seeking an interview of a political leader should not be a right of a reporter,” Raje said.

Credibility of the media whether print or tv news should be maintained at all costs in reporting, and once it is gone, would not be earned again, she further said.  She said the prediction of election results was not so easy, so everyone engaged in the profession should be careful.
