New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former union minister Mani Shankar Aiyar has stoked fresh controversy with his remark that talks between India and Pakistan can't move forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Responding to a question on Indo-Pak crisis during an interview with Duniya TV, Aiyar said, said that Modi should be removed from the top post to take forward the talks between the two sides.
"You need to remove Modi, otherwise talks will not move forward," he said, adding that 'we have to wait for four years for this'.
Aiyar, who went to Pakistan before the Bihar Assembly polls, had also said that Islamabad should help India to remove Modi from power if it wants relations between the two countries to progress.
"These people are very optimistic about Modi, they think that talks will move forward with Modi's presence but I don't think so," he had said.
India has on many occasions tried to hold talks with Pakistan on all outstanding issue but change in Pakistan's stand never yielded positive results.
