Rajahmundry (AP): Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today formally launched his political party and blamed Congress, BJP, TDP and YSR Congress for the division of the state.
“Should I keep quiet when Andhra Pradesh is being divided? Should I cling on to my post?” he asked, addressing a public meeting with an impressive turn-out at the launch of his ‘Jai Samaikyandhra Party'.
Blaming the Congress, BJP, TDP and YSR Congress for the division of the state, he alleged that it was done in an undemocratic manner with a scant regard for principles and procedures of the Parliament.
Referring to BJP leader Sushma Swaraj describing herself as ‘chinnamma' (younger mother) in the Parliament, Reddy alleged the ‘Chinnamma' and ‘Peddamma' (elder mother, referring to Congress president Sonia Gandhi), joined hands to divide Andhra Pradesh.
Seeking to position himself as a champion of a united Andhra Pradesh, Reddy recalled veteran BJP leader L K Advani's comment that he had not seen a bill as defective as the Telangana bill.
