New Delhi: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's selfies and advised him, as well as, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal "to work for the people".

"Nitish Kumar is worried because people are not clicking selfies with him like they do with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What shall we do on this? My sincere advice to him (Kumar) is to try to work in a manner that people become impressed and come to click selfies with him," Prasad said.

The Union Communications and IT Minister was speaking to media after visiting a photo exhibition by Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity showcasing the welfare schemes launched by Centre for various sections of the society.

Prasad's sharp comments came as a reaction to Kumar who attacked Modi yesterday for his penchant for selfies and had said that "what people voted for was a selfless leadership and what they have got is a selfie leadership".

Pointing out that India has 100 crore mobile phones now and it was an age of technology, Prasad added that wherever Modi goes in India or abroad, Indians, foreigners, journalists, leaders, children and people from diverse walks of life flock to click selfies with him.

"This is happening because of the dynamic leadership of our Prime Minister. He is people's Prime Minister," the minister noted.

Replying to a question, Prasad said in the same vein, "I advise Kejriwal to do some work. He keeps on fighting somebody or other. Sometimes he will fight in his own party, sometimes with the central government, sometimes with the Lieutenant Governor. Only this will not do."

Prasad, who is going to Motihari in East Champaran district today to attend a programme to celebrate the one-year of Modi government at the Centre, said he was in Bangalore yesterday to attend one such function.

"On the occasion of completing one year at the Centre, we are telling the people about the work done by our government. We want the people to see the work done by us," he added.
