Both Swami Ramdev and Arvind Kejriwal have never hidden their differences on how to take the anti-corruption movement forward. While Swmai Ramdev is in favour of close association with BJP, Arvind Kejriwal has hardened his stand and is all for maintaining equal distance from both Congress and BJP.
At the nine hour long meeting, Arvind Kejriwal tried his best to convince Anna for lending his support to the new political party . Kejriwal went to the extent of saying that without Anna, they were nothing and everything will come to a naught in his absence.
But Anna had made up his mind and strongly refused to endorse any kind of association with Arvind's political party. He even asked Arvind not to use his name or photograph in his future political campaigns.
Even Kiran Bedi is believed to have opposed the move to form a political party and advocated dialogue with BJP. On the other hand, members like Shanti Bhushan fully supported the formation of a political party.
He recounted his experience of Janata Party and said that if Janata party could overthrow Indira government within two months of formation then why can't the new political party achieve the same success when it has around two years to convince the people. The marathon meeting was mediated by renowned Social scientist Yogendra Yadav .
Meanwhile, both Anna Hazare and Swami Ramdev have refused to comment on the content of their discussion on Wednesday night.
