New Delhi, Dec 18: The Election Commission today announced the dates for the byelection process in Maharashtra to fill up the Rajya Sabha seat left vacant after the death of former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
The notification will be issued on Dec 26, last date of filing nominations in Jan 2, Scrutiny on Jan 3, last date for withdrawal is Jan 5 and date of poll (if required) is January 12.
The tenure of this seat will expire on April 2, 2018.
