Amritsar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Wagah-Attari joint retreat ceremony area in Punjab later this week to launch a public infrastructure work.
Singh, on March 22, will lay the foundation stone for erecting new and permanent seating galleries at the retreat area in Amritsar to accommodate more viewers for the daily flag lowering ceremony here conducted jointly by Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers, sources said.
During the day, Singh will also flag-in a fortnight long BSF women camel safari which will end here. It was flagged off from Gujarat.
BSF officers will also brief the Home Minister about the security and defence preparedness in this border area and other civilian facilities created to host the people every evening.
He is also expected the witness the high-voltage drills between the troops of the two border guarding forces.
