Jammu : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived here on Monday on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh is visiting the state to take stock of the situation on the international border in the Jammu region and the line of actual control between India and China in the Ladakh region of the state.
The minister landed at the technical area of Jammu airport in a BSF plane around 9 a.m.

Besides senior officers of the home ministry, Singh is accompanied by Director General BSF D.K. Pathak and DG ITBP Krishna Chaudhary.
Immediately after his arrival here, Singh left for the Samba border district where he will inaugurate an ITPB complex and also take a first hand account of the latest situation on the international border.
Highly-placed sources told IANS that the central government has decided to deploy ITBP to augment the strength of the BSF on and near the international border to check cross-border infiltration and address the issue of frequent ceasefire violations on the border by Pakistan.

Singh will fly to Leh town in the afternoon to review the situation on the line of actual control.
