Confident of securing majority inJharkhand, BJP President Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said his party will not have any truck with JMM in the post-result scenario.

"The question does not arise at all. I have repeatedly said the NDA will get a majority to form a government on its own," Singh told a press conference when his reply was sought about his party's possible tie-up with JMM after the election results.

Stating that Jharkhand required a stable government for fast progress and curbing corruption, Singh said the NDA's main "concern" was to eradicate poverty and provide employment opportunities to the youth of the state.

Accusing the Congress of failure to curb prices of essential commodities, the BJP leader claimed, "The BJP provides stable governance while the Congress gives stability in price rise."

"I have appealed to the electorate to give a deserving gift to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birthday on December 25 by giving the NDA a majority in the assembly elections," he said.

The fifth and final phase of Assembly elections will be held on December 18 in the state, while the counting of votes will begin on December 23. PTI
