I challenge Modi to appoint RTI Commissioner and Lokayukta in the state he has been lording over for more than a decade. The watchman of Gujarat will then find himself behind the bars.” he added.

Refuting Modi's repeated allegations that the Congress-led UPA had failed to check terrorism, Gandhi said,” in the last five years of UPA rule, the country has lost 800 lives in terror attacks. Compare that with the six years of BJP-led NDA government when 22,000 people were killed in such incidents. You will be able to see through his bluff”.

Coming down heavily on the Gujarat Chief Minister over the alleged snooping scandal, Gandhi said, “I recently saw an election poster where Modi has been shown as pompously proclaiming that he will give power to women. Does one give power by getting women stalked by policemen? I would ask Modi to forget about giving power. Women are aware of their own power. He only needs to learn how to treat them with respect”.

Gandhi said his Congress party was committed to women's cause and added if they formed the next government at the Centre “I assure you that the Women's Reservation Bill, which the BJP has been stalling, will be the first legislation to be passed”

“We are also committed to set up all-women police stations across the country and ensure that the number of women in the police force is raised to 25 per cent of the total work force,” Gandhi added.
