Jammu: Against the backdrop of tension along Indo-Pak border, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will begin his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from today during which he will meet the people affected by shelling from Pakistani troop.
"Rahul will arrive in morning here on a three-day visit to J&K. He will fly the Balakote area of Poonch district where six of persons have died and dozens injured due to Pakistan firing on August 15," Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) president Ghulam Mir said.
He will also meet families of the victims and interact with affected population of the border belts, he added.
After returning from Poonch, Mr Gandhi will meet the representatives of different sections of society besides addressing a Panchayat Conference of the party for Jammu province, Mr Mir said.
Rahul will also visit Kashmir and Ladakh regions during his three-day visit.
