Amethi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for cancelling his pet food park project in his constituency, Amethi.
Rahul, who arrived here today on a three-day visit, said, "The food park would have changed the face of these districts including Amethi. The farmers would have benefited. But the Modi government took it away, not from me but from the farmers, the weak and the poor."
He said that the present government is trying to take revenge from him by annulling the mega food parki in Jagdishpur.
"Wo badla mujhse lena chahte hain, par isme kisaan fass rha hai, mai chahta hun wo aisi rajneeti na karein ( They want to take revenge from me but farmers are getting caught in between, I urge them not to do such politics)," he said.
The Gandhi scion also vowed to fight the odds of BJP-led government.
"But we will fight for it and will try our best to get it back," Rahul said.
The BJP led government at the Centre and Congress are at loggerheads over cancelation of Shaktiman Mega Food Park.
He further chided Modi saying his government has 'pro-industrialist approach'.
He said that the Prime Minister has 'enough' time to visit the world but he has no time to meet the farmers hit by unseasonal rain.
"Ye aapki sarkar nhi hai, ye udyogpatiyon ki sarkar hai (This is not your government, this is government for industrialists). Modiji went to China and Mongolia. He even went to America and Canada. But did he visit a farmer's home? Did he visit the families of the farmers who committed suicide," he said.
This is Rahul's first visit to Amethi after his return from 56-day sabbatical that ended last month.
