Rahul Gandhi narrated at length what happened on the morning of October 31, 1984, the day Indira Gandhi was assassinated.
"I was in school in my Geography class, when a man came and told something to my teacher. My teacher allowed me to go home. I went to the school principal's room, where I spoke on phone with a lady in our home. I asked her, is my papa alright. She said yes. Is my mama alright, she said yes. I asked is my daadi alright, she said no, you come here soon.
"My PSO (personal security officer) took me in the car and collected Priyanka from her school. She didn't know what had happened to my daadi. Both of us were asked to kneel beneath the car seat, as our security officer sat in the car.
