BHUBANESWAR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today wound up his Orissa visit midway after cancelling his interaction programme with tribal students at Baripada due to 'inclement' weather, causing disappointment to youths in the northern district town.
The AICC general secretary, who was scheduled to interact with tribal college students at Shahid Smruti Bhavan in Baripada, had to cancel the programme because of bad weather, a Congress leader said.
More than 400 students from about 15 colleges in and around Baripada had assembled at the venue since early morning for a tete-a-tete with the young Nehru-Gandhi scion.
"We were so excited to meet Rahul Gandhi, but now we feel very disappointed after the cancellation of his programme," one of the students at the local MPC College here said.
Gandhi had also cancelled a similar interaction session with students in the western Orissa town of Sambalpur yesterday due to bad weather and spent last night at the state guest house here.
However, he did manage to interact with students in Cuttack and Berhampur yesterday and fielded their wide-ranging queries.
