New Delhi: Information & Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley today said prominent people and achievers taking a stand on issues does good to society.
At the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards ceremony, he was asked about his take on creative people voicing their opinion just before Aamir Khan's session.
"I am quite okay with prominent people and achievers taking positions on issues. There will be a large number who are completely focused on their work and therefore for them to develop a thought process outside of their usual activity may not be possible. Everybody is not alike but there are some people who are actively involved in the thinking process themselves and would like to react," he said.

According to Jaitley, there were various mediums today for people to voice their opinion.
"... If it is a seriously thought out view against just a maverick view, I think it does good to society," he added.
