New Delhi, Jan 18: Jharkhand was placed under president's rule Friday with President Pranab Mukherjee formally signing the order, official sources said here.
President's rule was okayed after the Arjun Munda government collapsed after the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha withdrew support last month. The union cabinet Thursday gave its nod for imposing president's rule in the state.
“The president has signed the order this evening,” sources at Rashtrapati Bhavan told IANS.
