President's office denies charges leveled by Lalit Modi

New Delhi: The office of President Pranab Mukherjee has denied the charges leveled against Omita Paul, President's secretary, by former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.

President's office, in a letter, has termed  Lalit  Modi's charges as baseless, tendentious and malicious allegations.

“This is with reference to a news report which has appeared today in various publications, referring to a tweet issued by Mr. Lalit Modi in which the name of the Secretary to the President is mentioned. Mr. Modi's charges are baseless, tendentious and malicious. “ said the statement.

Lalit Modi, in a tweet, had accused Omita Paul of having connections with a big hawala operator.
