New Delhi: Power supply of Former Aviation Minister and RLD Chief Ajit Singh's Delhi bungalow at 12, Tughlag Road has been cut off by New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).

NDMC took the step as Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief failed to vacate the official bungalow despite repeated eviction notices served to him. The bungalow was allotted to him during his stint with the previous Congress-led UPA government.

Earlier this week, a Delhi Police team had gone to Singh's place to ask him to vacate it. However, they didn't find the former union minister in the bungalow.

Reports said that the officials had to face a stiff resistance from Singh's supporters when they tried to enter the bungalow for eviction.

According to rules, ministers have to vacate the official bungalows if they lose elections.

The ex-civil aviation minister lost the 2014 Lok Sabha election from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh.

It was his first defeat as the 75-year-old leader had never lost an election since 1999.
