Ranchi: Former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh today said Rahul Gandhi did his best during the electioneering for Lok Sabha polls and the party's drubbing was a collective responsibility.
“It's (defeat) a collective responsibility. Rahul Gandhi tried his best,” Ramesh told reporters. “Very good work was done in the rural sector during the last three years, but we could not make the people aware of it (during campaigning),” he said.
B K Hariprasad, the party's incharge for Jharkhand affairs said Congress would continue to support the state government led by Hemant Soren.
He admitted that organisational weakness had led to the massive drubbing in the state where the party drew a blank. “We have served show cause notice to those who indulged in anti-party activities,” PCC chief Sukhdeo Bhagat said.
