New Delhi: With the AAP making it clear that it will pursue allegations of corruption against ex-Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Congress today warned it that “politics of revenge” always backfires.

“Those who practise politics of revenge have the voting public taking political revenge on them”, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said in a series of tweets.  Singhvi's tweet came in the backdrop of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's statement that AAP government will pursue allegations of corruption against Dikshit and industrialist Mukesh Ambani and others.

All the cases that were registered last year during Kejriwal government's 49-day stint “will be pursued”, Sisodia had said.

In an obvious reference to the swearing-in of the Kejriwal government on Valentine's day today, Singhvi said “Kejriwal's proposal to people went well. 14th Feb is his first date & then a 5 year relationship. Hope he doesn't have early breakup plans.”

Last time, Kejriwal had resigned as Chief Minister after a 49-day stint. “Best to Kejriwal. Hope he is able to ground, root& actualise some of his mental flights into implemented programs,” he said.

At the same time, the Congress spokesman said the U-turns have already begun. “WiFi for half an hour, electricity & water also with conditions. The U-TURNS begin.” Singhvi said AAP's expansion is good for democracy “bt it has to first expand beyond persona of Kejriwal”, he said.

Through the tweets, Singhvi also counselled restraint to Dikshit, who had attacked senior leader Ajay Maken in the wake of the Delhi debacle.

“Sheila Dixit is an extremely senior seasoned & successful cong leader. She has to exercise greater restraint,” he said.
