New Delhi: Delhi Police said on Wednesday that it has rejected a request from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office to keep away the media from him.
Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi told the media that they got a request to restrict the media's movements, but added that police won't do that.
Vijay Singh, a deputy commissioner of police, said: "We have received a message through wireless that media should be restricted from approaching Kejriwal."
Delhi government sources said a verbal message was sent to the police in view of what happened at an event on Tuesday at Bawana where Kejriwal was present.
A section of the crowd climbed onto the stage occupied by Kejriwal protesting against poor quality water that they said they were getting at their homes.
