New Delhi: Under fire from some of BJP's lawmakers, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung found support from unusual quarters, when chief minister Arvind Kejriwal blamed the Centre for political interference rather than finding fault with Mr Jung.
Mr Kejriwal said that the real solution lies in the Prime Minister's Office stopping their interference in Delhi's affairs rather than removing Mr Jung from his position.
"Congress and BJP both demanding Sh Najeeb Jung's removal? Strange. Is he at fault? No. He is doing what PMO is asking him to do. "Removing him will not help. His successor would also do the same if PMO kept interfering. Real solution is PMO should stop interfering in Delhi," the chief minister tweeted.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader's comments came a day after BJP lawmaker, Udit Raj demanded Mr Jung's removal, calling him a "super king" who does not heed to views of elected representatives.

The lawmaker was angry after three of his supporters were arrested for allegedly assaulting North West Delhi District Magistrate, Sanjay Goel in outer Delhi's Kanjhawla area on Thursday. Mr Raj accused the police of acting under pressure from bureaucrats.
Though BJP has not demanded Mr Jung's removal, a section of the party's Delhi unit was in favour of his ouster.
In another tweet, Mr Kejriwal said, "Najeeb Jung is a good man with bad political bosses."
Earlier this week, the chief minister had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the "unprecedented" situation arising due to differences between the Delhi government and the Centre. He said that he was ready to go the "extra mile" to settle them for sake of the city's development.
The AAP government and the Lieutenant Governor, through the Centre, have been locked in a fierce confrontation over number of issues over appointment of officers in Delhi, which include control over the Anti-Corruption Branch and appointment of a Commission of Inquiry to probe the multi-crore CNG fitness scam.
