New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today morning strongly condemned the ghastly terror attack at a cafe in Australia's largest city, Sydney.
The Prime Minister took to micro-blogging site twitter to express his sadness over the tragic incident and prayed for everyone's safety.
“The incident in Sydney is disturbing. Such acts are inhuman and deeply unfortunate. I pray for everyone's safety,” he said.
An armed man took at least 40 people hostage inside the Lindt Chocolat Cafe in Sydney, forcing the government to call an emergency security meeting.
The hostages were seen standing with their hands up at the windows of the cafe. There was also a black and white flag, believed to be a jihadi flag, being held up in a window.
