March 8 marks International Women's Day, a day set aside to recognize the contributions of women. It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. Its root lies in the early 1900s when oppression and inequality was spurring women to become more vocal and active in campaigning for change.
