Kathua: Actress and BJP's Mathura MP Hema Malini on Saturday alleged that successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir did nothing for the people of the state, which she claimed lacked in development and deserved better things like electricity and good roads.

"People of J&K have seen cross border terrorism, everyday strikes, riots and what not. You people deserve better things in life, which you have been denied all these years," Hema Malini said while addressing an election rally in support of party candidate here today.

She said that the state has been denied of its due share of development as the successive governments in the state have failed to do anything for the people.

"The successive NC and Congress-led government did nothing for the people here, there are no roads, no power, no water supply, don't you people think that you deserve better things. You too have right for 24-hour electricity and other facilities," she said.

She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to develop Jammu and Kashmir as one of the most developed state in the country.

"To fulfil the dream of Prime Minister Modi, people have to strengthen his hands, by voting for the party candidate so that the party forms the next government in the state," she said.
