New Delhi, March 5: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Tuesday said his focus was strengthening the party and not becoming its prime ministerial candidate ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
"Asking me whether you want to be prime minister is a wrong question," Gandhi told some party leaders during an informal interaction in the central hall of parliament, said a party leader.
Gandhi, who had made similar remarks while interacting with the state leaders two weeks ago, also said that he wanted to empower more people to create a large pool of talent in the party.
He also had an official meeting with MPs from Haryana and Chhattisgarh and suggested some dos and don'ts to them to strengthen the party. Chhattisgarh goes to polls later this year.
