New Delhi: A day before the Winter Session of the Parliament is slated to commence, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu has conveyed an all-party meeting today to ensure the smooth functioning of the Lower House.
This has come a day after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan held an all-party meeting where she discussed the issues to be raised by the parties on the floor of the House.
The month-long Winter Session will begin on November 24 (Monday) and ending December 23. In total, it will have 22 sittings.
Yesterday's meeting was attended by 18 parties barring the Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena and the Samajwadi Party.
Meanwhile, TMC MP from Rajya Sabha Derek O'Brien said that the party will boycott today's meet conveyed by Naidu saying the meeting has been called on a very short notice and on holiday i.e. Sunday.
"Parliamentary Affairs Minister called all-party meet at short notice on Sunday. Why not working day? Betrays govt panic before Session," he said.
