New Delhi, Dec 8: With the Congress rejecting NDA's offer for a special session to complete pending business of Parliament, the Opposition today toughened its stand on the demand for JPC in the 2G spectrum issue by seeking a similar probe in Commonwealth Games projects and Adarsh housing scam.

The Opposition's mood was reflected when JD-U chief Sharad Yadav insisted that the demand for JPC was not only to look into 2G spectrum allocation scam but also to probe the Commonwealth Games mess and Adarsh Housing Society irregularities.

"There are three issues involved in our JPC demand. These include 2G spectrum allocation, Adarsh Housing Society scam and Commonwealth Games corruption. Our stress on JPC to probe 2G should not be misconstrued. It's not that we have left the other two issues. We are demanding JPC for all three," Yadav, also convenor of NDA, told reporters here.

The JD-U chief's comments came a day after he had maintained that if the government accepted the JPC demand, the NDA was open to holding a special session of Parliament to complete the pending business in both Houses.

The proceedings in Parliament were washed out owing to the stalemate between the government and the Opposition over demand for JPC to probe the 2G spectrum issue.

Reacting to it, Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarjan had said that her party's stand of no JPC remains unchanged despite this offer by the Opposition.

Terming the 2G spectrum scam as "the biggest scam in the country so far", Yadav said the CWG scam was similar in nature and alleged that the government was focussing only on small fries in the Games irregularities.

"The kind of action that is taking place in the CWG issue is not effective. So far, the action is happening only people connected with the Games Organizing Committee (OC) and the small fries, while the key persons have been spared.

"The OC is not the lone entity which was involved in the spendings on the Games. Delhi Development Authority (under the Ministry of Urban Development) and the Delhi government were also into it," the JD-U chief said.

He said that the Adarsh housing scam is related to the Centre and not the state, as the building was constructed on the land belonging to defence ministry. "A number of people from Delhi are involved in it," he alleged.

Yadav also said that the entire Opposition should be given credit for the action being taken by the government in case of 2G scam.

"Had we not adopted such a tough stand against corruption, the government would not have taken these actions," Yadav said referring to the CBI raids at the residences of former Telecom Minister A Raja and at the premises of four other Telecom officials.
