New Delhi: Farmer Gajendra Singh's suicide has brought ‘unwanted' and ‘new' worries to government as the united opposition led by Congress is likely to demand adjournment of Question Hour session in both the Houses of Parliament today.

The latest incident has given fresh ammunition to the opposition which now will be intensifying its attack on government over the contentious Land Acquisition Bill.

Some opposition leaders have already linked the tragic incident to the land reforms of the Narendra Modi government.

The Rajya Sabha, which is resuming today, is likely to by stormy with the opposition ready to ‘raise hell' in the House.

The Union Cabinet yesterday evening discussed the issue. It is believed that Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be making a statement in both the Houses today.

The Home Minister yesterday spoke to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Police Commissioner BS Bassi and ordered an inquiry.

The government is well aware of the fact that Gajendra's suicide will create an adverse affect on its attempts to get the bill passed in the Parliament. Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Baliyan visited the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where the doctors informed them that Gajendra was brought dead.
