Buoyed by the response to the Bharat Bandh called on the issue, the entire Opposition will make a common cause on the problem of price rise in the Monsoon Session of Parliament beginning Monday, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav said ON Tuesday .

"There is no difference among us on the issue of price rise. Entire Opposition was one on this issue in the last session and will remain one in the upcoming session too," the convenor of the BJP-led NDA said at a press conference in New Delhi.

Price rise is the most significant issue, he said. "No party is leading it (the protest over price rise). The issue itself is the leader. The recent Bharat bandh on the issue of price rise was unprecedented in which people were at the forefront and political parties were behind them," Yadav said.

Listing out other matters which may come up in the upcoming session, Yadav said there will be a discussion on the proposed Food Security Bill. "On this issue, the biggest panchayat of this country (Parliament) should not only hold discussions but also find a solution," he said

Corruption will be another issue to figure in the Monsoon Session, he said. "Money is being plundered from the funds of all the flagship programmes of the government being run for the poor people of this country," he charged. Yadav said that trade unions, excluding BMS, have given a call for a countrywide general strike on September 7 against price rise and on other issues related to workers.

"This issue is also there. All the laws that workers had got enacted have become useless now," he said. PTI
